The Juma Mosque of Derbent is the oldest mosque in Russia and the CIS. Built in 733 AD, it is located in the center of the old city of Derbent. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major center of Islamic culture in the North Caucasus.

Founder: Maslama ibn Abd al-Malik

Significance: The oldest mosque in Russia and the CIS countries.
